Green Key Enterprises was honored to meet with ʻAkilisi Pōhiva, Prime Minister of Tonga, to open negotiations for building a Green Key Facility in Tonga.

Using Green Key One™, Green Key’s pro-forma software tool, The Island Nation Business Model™ of Tonga was produced. The business model is an innovation strategy set to strategically tackle some of Tonga’s biggest barriers to industrialization.

The Green Key Tonga Project is designed to facilitate the South Pacific Regional Trade and Economic Co-operation Agreement (SPARTECA), as well as several other trade treaties. “SPARTECA is a nonreciprocal trade agreement in which Australia and New Zealand offer duty-free and unrestricted access for specified products originating from the developing island member countries of the Pacific Islands Forum. The agreement was signed in 1980, designed to address the unequal trade relationships between South Pacific island nations.

Green Key One™ takes a three dimensional approach (economic, environmental and social) to ensure sustainable development for generations to come. Energy security has proven to be the critical pathway to economic development of the Island nations.

The Tonga facility is designed to serve the local community for 50+ years. It is projected to produce 18 million gallons of fuel, 45 million board feet of Syn-Lumber™ for export, and 500+ local Jobs. Contributing significantly to Tonga’s GDP.
